Our Humble Beginnings

Brought about by the intense desire to share and help the most disadvantaged sector of our society, the couple Pastor Reynaldo and Mrs. Elvira Tayamora Aliño founded a Non-Government Organization named HESED ELEOS FOUNDATION, INCORPORATED on December 22, 2016.

HEFI LogoHesed Eleos Foundation, Incorporated started as an informal welfare organization, known then as Balitang-Balita, and eventually changed its name to Lingap Kapwa. During this time, the couple, particularly Mrs. Aliño, a broadcaster used her radio program to help and reach out to needy individuals and families. Through her radio program, she has established good working relationships with other welfare agencies in responding to the needs of said clients. Also, her being a broadcaster who served the needy opened the opportunity for her to encounter influential people in the social welfare department who gave her technical advice to formalize the establishment of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that operates as a social welfare agency. Thus, the birth of HESED ELEOS FOUNDATION, INC. (HEFI).

At present, HEFI is now a registered organization at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with its primary purpose to reach and cater to the basic needs of poor and underprivileged individuals and families through the provision of social services, networking, referrals, the conduct of feeding program, medical missions, livelihood training, and scholarship grants. Part of HEFI’s continuous efforts to establish the legality of its existence is securing its Registration and License to Operate with the Bureau of Standard of the Department of Social Welfare and Development–Central Office. This Foundation is now in the process of applying for its registration and license with the said office.

Mrs. Elvira T. Aliño has personally donated to HEFI since its inception and registration with the SEC in 2016, through her own trading company, El Berachah's Trading. A portion of her company’s gross earnings is donated to HEFI to cover operational expenses such as office rentals, utility fees, office supplies, allowances/honoraria, and other administrative and miscellaneous costs.

HEFI is implementing social welfare programs and services in selected areas of the National Capital Region and Region IV-A at the outset. The following are the most common issues and problems in these areas:

  1. Low-income families/jobless heads of families
  2. Separation of husband and wife (broken families)
  3. Out-of-school children and youth
  4. Drug Addiction
  5. Children/Youth/Families on the streets
  6. Gambling
  7. Children’s malnutrition
  8. The informal sector
  9. Flooding
  10. Garbage collection and disposal

For the first five (5) years of operation, HEFI has targeted the areas of the National Capital Region (Metro Manila) & Region IV-A (CALABARZON). With the help of our Almighty God, we hope to cover other regions / nationwide.
